Amazon Fire TV
The Year of Remote Internships .
During the summer of 2020, I worked on a 12-week design project on the Fire TV team. Due to confidentiality, I can't disclose the specific details of my work. However, on a high level, I can say that I worked on defining the user problem, identifying user mental models and creating key use cases, ideating design solutions and conducting remote usability tests internally.

My (Virtual) Thoughts .
Apart from developing my technical skills as a designer, I felt that the biggest takeaways from my time at Amazon that really helped me to grow as a young designer were the communication skills I developed through the interactions I had with the rockstars on my team.
ADAPT FAST
Having the freedom to work on my project however I saw fit was an incredible experience. I did not only learn how to be very intentional on piecing together the appropriate design methodologies but more importantly, advocating for my project and bringing the most relevant stakeholders onboard for my project.
TAKE OWNERSHIP
I’m not gonna lie, learning on the job, virtually, is tough. But, time waits for no one especially when working in a fast paced environment. It was difficult to brainstorm with the other designers on the team but sticky situations like these made me comfortable in organizing and running my own design workshops and critiques remotely.
CLARIFY, CLARIFY, CLARIFY
It’s always day 1 at Amazon. The learning never stops and working through ambiguity is part of the job. Asking questions and clarifying can be terrifying especially when I’m just an intern on the team. But, I learn that the simple act of taking the initiative to clarify and ask can work wonders and speed up my process much more quickly.
